The US Senior Beach team earned 6th place out of 18 teams at the 2024 IKF World Championships last month, earning points to their overall world ranking. They faced an extremely tough preliminary pool, which included the eventual champions Netherlands and silver medalists Chinese Taipei. Despite this, they had some thrilling games, including an historic win over Chinese Taipei. The US fought their way to the quarterfinals, but would fall to former #1 world ranked Poland. In their final match the American side battled former #2 world ranked Belgium, leading 7-5 with 3:50 left, but received 2 controversial yellow cards that dashed their hopes.
The US sits in 4th place in the world rankings, hoping to earn more points at the upcoming World Cup Europe in August and World Cup Asia at the end of the year. Eight teams will eventually be selected for the 2025 World Games in Chengdu, China.
