At the US Korfball Federation (USKF), inclusivity is at the heart of our mission. As stated in our core values:

The US Korfball Federation (USKF) is the governing body for korfball in the United States and a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit organization. Our mission is to advance the sport of korfball by offering comprehensive support and resources to both emerging and established clubs, ensuring the sport grows and develops at all levels and abilities. We are dedicated to fostering a vibrant, nationwide community of korfball enthusiasts.

We take this commitment seriously, especially the emphasis on supporting “all levels and abilities.” To that end, in September 2024, we launched our Adaptive Korfball initiative, led by board member Coach Karli Piennette.

Feedback from athletes, particularly those in the wheelchair sports community, highlights the unique appeal of korfball. The absence of dribbling—a key feature that distinguishes korfball from basketball—has been especially appreciated by athletes new to wheelchair sports, as it reduces barriers and enhances accessibility.

If you are interested in learning more about Adaptive Korfball or would like to become involved, please feel free to reach out to Coach Karli at karli@uskorfball.org.
